Dear faithful pastors and brethren, At the time of this writing we are in OH spending
some time at our home church and also visiting some of our supporting
churches in the area. We are thankful to be able to spend time also with
our families, which are in the Cleveland area on both Janet and my side.
Being here in OH is a midpoint for our stay in the U.S. and while we are
content in this “state”, we look forward to our return to Sicily with
great longing. We are excited about the work that is before us among the
Sicilian people and what the Lord has in store for us to do when we
return. We are
very thankful to our heavenly Father
for his continued mercy and
faithfulness to us. We have continued to travel many miles with safety
and no trouble at all with the vehicles. The blessings along the way
are too many to mention, things that we know that we are not worthy
of. God is good and we sense a great debt of gratitude to him and his
people who have been so gracious to us. The
meetings are going well
with a good response to the
preaching. Pray that the preaching will continue to edify the saints for
the furtherance of the gospel. In the past couple of months we have been asked to
minister through the Word and music in three different nursing homes,
one in Nebraska, one in Indiana and one in Wooster, OH. We’re
thankful for the opportunity to bring joy and encouragement to the
“forgotten millions”. Another
blessing has been spending time with Bro. Stetson Planck and his family.
We had several
occasions to spend time with them while at our supporting church,
Cornerstone Baptist Temple in Dayton, OH and then again on a return trip
to the area. Bro. Stetson is planning a survey trip to Italy in the
month of September to assist him in discerning the Lord’s will for
mission work there. Pray for him and his family in this matter. There
are others who have expressed a great interest in Italy and/or Sicily
and many who have said they would like to come at some point in the
future for either short term help or just to get better acquainted with
what God is doing there. I have mentioned in some of the churches that
one of the things we would like to do when we get back is to host groups
of young people (youth groups, college and career classes or just groups
of individuals) to come for a short term evangelistic outreach. Some
have already stated that they are interested in doing that as the Lord
wills. The invitation remains open to any interested. It was
great to see Bro. Jim Lassiter and family again.
He has officially started deputation with a good amount of meetings
already booked and other preparations falling into place. Continue in
prayer for them. We
continue to receive good reports from Sicily. We are thankful
for our brethren who are
labouring faithfully and for the growth that is happening with the
ministry. Pray specifically for Vito who is still not saved but comes
regularly to church and his wife Anna who was saved last year. He is
having trouble receiving his retirement pension. We are praying that
this trial might be used of God to get his attention. We are
also thankful and prayful for Bro. Jordan and his wife Linda
as they will be pulling the
load alone for the next several months until we return in December. Bro.
Joe Sudore and family will be coming to the U. S. to raise extra support
as the exchange between the dollar and euro has becoming increasingly
worse. He simply needs to raise more to make ends meet. The ministry
plans remain the same with Bro. Joe taking over the pastor/teacher
position of the church as me and my family concentrate on evangelizing
and public ministry with hope of kindling other “fires” around the
island and also to assist in the church in whatever capacity we are
needed. Bro. Joe has been a faithful and dedicated missionary,
has worked hard to learn the language and adapt to the culture and has
borne good fruit during his initial time in Sicily. We are
thankful to Cornerstone Baptist Temple,
Dayton, OH who gave our children the opportunity to record a music CD in
May. The CD is meant to be a blessing and if you are interested
in receiving one please contact us at one of the OH addresses below. The
CDs are free of charge as the Lord provides. We also
want to thank the Thom Dombroski Family
from Hope Baptist Church,
Toledo, OH who have faithfully handled our prayer letter for many
years now. They have a vital part of the ministry by providing the line
of communication between the Lord’s work in Sicily and our
supporting churches. We would
appreciate your prayers
regarding our traveling, our
personal health, and that we would we be a blessing as we report to all
of our faithful supporting churches. We thank you brethen for your faithfulness, Bro.Sal Galioto and family USA Cell. Phone #: 805-746-7528 AND HOW SHALL THEY HEAR WITHOUT A PREACHER? FIELD:
